The Funkin' GitHub Monthly Roundup - June 2025
Hey Funkin’ coders, bug hunters, and pull request mergers,
Welcome back to the Monthly Roundup, where we summarize this month’s events in the repository!
A new
develop
mentThis month, you might’ve noticed a huge uptick in merged PRs. That’s because we’ve finally started using the
develop
branch again!Our friend
develop
allows you, the reader, to test out some of the upcoming update’s changes before they’re released! Feel free to follow the Compiling Guide to grab a copy of 0.6.4develop
(it’s really good)As a bonus for long-time
develop
fans, we’ve also created anotherdevelop
branch on the funkin.assets repo to finally merge some assets PRs. Double win!Progress Report
Here’s what we’ve achieved this month:
develop
branch to its former glory.develop
branch on funkin.assets.develop
branches.Oh yeah, and the moderators can merge PRs now. Cool!
With that being said…
Statistics
…we’ve really done a number on the PR pile!
It’s beautiful… such a huge number of PRs merged in just a month.
Here’s how that compares to the activity in April and May:
Now that’s a lot of merging! With very few PRs and issues opened this month, we’re finally starting to topple this tower.
Half a year has flown by (wow), so here’s a comparison of activity between Q1 and Q2:
These numbers are getting reeeally big! The coolest thing here is Q2 having about triple the amount of merged PRs compared to Q1. Think we can beat this in Q3?
Here’s how many open issues and PRs we have at the end of June, compared to April and May:
Steep drop in PRs, huh? We’re gonna keep that trend rolling!
Now let’s check out this month’s open PR frontrunners:
Out of 198 open PRs, @Lasercar earns the triple crown with 48 PRs!
And our next four contestants are:
All of these numbers are lower than last month’s, thanks to all the merging!
One more chart to go, let’s see how our 663 issues are doing:
Our backlog remains quite large with 287 issues to review, up from 283 issues last month.
What’s incredible here is that a whopping 122 issues will be closed when the next update releases. Those PRs are really paying off!
Finally, here’s a neat little summary of this month’s activity in a .txt file, courtesy of AbnormalPoof!
