The homepage main CTA is "Get Started" and that leads users to the /contact route to book a demo. While this is solid for conversions, we may also be scaring off a subset of the developer persona. If "Get Started" leads me to a contact page, I may assume there's no way for me to try the product without talking to the company (a cornerstone of many on-prem companies).
While I'd love splitting the homepage main CTA to "Book a Demo" and a smaller CTA for "or download now" as a text link next to it, I understand that will probably dilute our conversions.
My current thought is to very slightly soften the contact form page by adding a small CTA to "download now for free" or something similar with a link to our download page. See one possible avenue for that below. Also a good opportunity to potentially A/B test.
Potential hypothesis: Does the /contact conversion rate hold steady while additional traffic to /download is generated by the contact page?
