NIX not found

I am building nix-mx on high sierra with MATLAB 2018a and NIX 1.4.2 from Homebrew. NIX is installed in usr/local/nix/Cellar/1.4.2/. It's linked in use/local

I got a error message when running cmake ..

Make Error: The following variables are used in this project, but they are set to NOTFOUND. Please set them or make sure they are set and tested correctly in the CMake files: NIX_LIBRARY

I am not sure why NIX can't be discovered

Hi @carmagnole, I am sorry that building nix-mx did not work. The (likely) reason why nix was not found is that cmake by default looks for the static library.The Homebrew installation, however, installs the dynamic (dylib) version.
Even if that had passed, though, I experienced a few compile issues with the 1.4.2 nix library. In version 1.4.2 we introduced a few function overloads and default parameter which now need to be taken care of in the MATLAB bindings. Please give us a little time to sort things out.

Hi @carmagnole, sorry for the long delay. I think things are sorted out by now.
For installation of the static build of nix you can use the new static-formula

brew tap g-node/pkg 
brew install nixio-static

It should be possible to have both versions (static and dynamic) installed in parallel. If homebrew complains about already set links, just use the suggest overwrite command.

The current version of the nix-library is 1.4.3. Please let us know if the issue is not resolved.
