Split out GEOSwgcm_GridComp into separate repo? #899

The recent update to WW3 via #889 has exposed an interesting issue.
As shown by @biljanaorescanin, if a user grabs the current main of GEOSgcm (as of 2025-Feb-26), the build fails because you need the current develop of GEOSgcm_GridComp to build WW3.
But as found by @mfmehari, if a user has the current develop of GEOSgcm_GridComp, they have checkout the v7.14-geos-r1 tag of WW3 to build!
So, a query for @adarmenov: how often does WW3 update? If this is just an occasionaly occurrence (once a year or so), might not be worth it. But if you think you might update WW3 and the corresponding WGCM GridComp more often, then we could look at splitting out the WGCM GC into its own repo, so that updates can be managed in sync easier.
