docker-compose doesn't build propperly

I cloned this repo, installed docker and docker-compose on Linux Mint. When I try to build it (using the suggested command ./garlicoin.sh -s release), an error appears:

release_1  | bash: /garlicoin/src/garlicoind: No such file or directory
garlicoindocker_release_1 exited with code 127

The second command yields in

me@linux-mint ~/Git/garlicoin-docker $ ./garlicoin.sh -c release
release
Error: No such container: garlicoin_release_1

Any ideas what I do wrong?
