Loading Webp compressed COG's using Leaflet : Error: Unknown compression method identifier: 50001

I have generated COG using GDal & can see CRS=WGS 84, Layout=COG & Compression=WEBP.
When I tried using the georaster-layer-for-leaflet, I couldn't get this to load on my map.
The error I see is :
Error: Unknown compression method identifier: 50001

Can we achieve this using webp compression?
