Update mesa to 22.0 branch ?

I was wondering if we can update the script to use the 22.0 mesa branch, or maybe to give the option. New features for the video driver is always welcomed :)

I don't really think they're gonna upgrade the script, but I think you can manually do that. I'm currently installing the mesa 20.3.5 although I want to see if anyone has tried installing the latest version of mesa and if there are any broken games...

I've found that installing new versions of Mesa on the OS that RetroPie runs on top os (Buster) is exceedingly difficult. Count that for any 32-bit operating system. I haven't checked out Raspbian Bookworm yet, but I'd be curious to see what versions of the Mesa driver it has on the 64 bit and 32 bit versions. As I mentioned in #4 (comment) I am considering dropping the self-compiled MESA because there are other pre-compiled versions available that may be better supported.

You may also want to look at the Arm64 branch to see what I've been doing to test out Box86 on 64 bit OSes.
