What did you do?

I would like to add a custom view above the message input view using SwiftUI that expands to the full width of the device

What did you expect to happen?

Find the answer in the docs.

What happened instead?

I found a way to do it in UIKit, but can't find the way to do the same thing in SwiftUI

You can use makeMessageComposerViewType and wrap it in a VStack with your view above:

public func makeMessageComposerViewType(
        with channelController: ChatChannelController,
        messageController: ChatMessageController?,
        quotedMessage: Binding<ChatMessage?>,
        editedMessage: Binding<ChatMessage?>,
        onMessageSent: @escaping () -> Void
) -> some View {
        VStack {
            Text("Header view")
            MessageComposerView(
                viewFactory: self,
                channelController: channelController,
                messageController: messageController,
                quotedMessage: quotedMessage,
                editedMessage: editedMessage,
                onMessageSent: onMessageSent
            )
        }
}
