Separate frontend to run backend on remote server

Perceived idea awesomeness

• Wow, you don't have this yet???
• Would be super cool.
• I'm not sure a lot of people would use it, but I'd love to have it.
• Kind of a gadget, honestly, but why not?

Perceived idea difficulty

• Quit your job first.
• Would need some work, but nothing impossible.
• Shouldn't be too hard to make.
• Like, I could do it.

Since this project is made with electron and is using web technologies, shouldn't it be pretty easy to have the frontend be hosted as a webapp and have the backend run on a remote computer?

I'd love to be able to run the main process on my server at home, then serve a frontend on the web that can be accessed from an iPad, for example.

An example of this in a different context is how coder allows you to host the backend of vscode on a server and then access the frontend from anywhere.
