Seconding this -- I would really love the ability to include looping, silent HTML5 video elements. I write technical scientific documentation and currently have to use GIFs for animations, which makes our pages gigantic and slow to load. |

I would like to request improved and more robust support for embedding videos using HTML within GitBook.
Currently, HTML-based video embeds may not render consistently across GitBook's editor, preview, and published pages. Enhancing support—such as ensuring stable playback, allowing customization of video attributes, and improving compatibility with standard HTML
<video>tags and third-party video sources—would greatly benefit users who rely on multimedia content in their documentation.Stronger HTML video integration would significantly enhance GitBook’s capabilities for tutorials, courses, technical guides, and any documentation that requires rich media. And I remember that at least three years ago, everything was working fine.
Thank you for considering this enhancement.
