Excalidraw - not generating image for dark mode

Hi Gitbook,
I am creating my doc's site in dark mode. The Excalidraw drawings in the Gitbook editor function as expected (with swapping from light / dark mode changing the Excalidraw theme) but after publishing / on the docs site they are shown in light mode - I'm under the impression this is related to the file being converted to an SVG.

Is it possible for Gitbook to generate both a light and dark SVG? Or another solution put in place to allow for switch between dark/light?
