Bugfix Release v2.0.2 - Critical Settings Issue Resolved

Hi everyone! 👋

I'm excited to announce that v2.0.2 is now available, which fixes a critical bug that some of you may have experienced with settings not persisting correctly.

What Was the Problem?

If you've been using the FIRE calculator and dividend tracking features, you might have noticed that:

• Setting up your Safe Withdrawal Rate or Planned Annual Expenses would cause your dividend category configuration to disappear
• Conversely, configuring your dividend income category would reset your FIRE settings to defaults

This was frustrating because you'd have to keep reconfiguring the same settings over and over.

What Caused It?

The bug was in how the application saved settings to the database. Both FIRE settings and dividend settings are stored in the same location (for efficiency), but when saving one type of setting, the code wasn't preserving the other type. This meant that whichever setting you saved last would overwrite everything else.

What's Fixed in v2.0.2?

✅ FIRE settings (Safe Withdrawal Rate, Planned Annual Expenses) now persist correctly when you save dividend settings
✅ Dividend settings (Income Category, Subcategory) now persist correctly when you save FIRE settings
✅ All settings are properly preserved across page reloads
✅ No data migration needed - the fix is backward compatible

How to Update

If you're self-hosting:

1. Pull the latest code from the main branch
2. Redeploy your application
3. That's it! No database changes needed

After Updating

I recommend:

1. Go to Settings → Dividend Settings and verify/reconfigure your dividend income category
2. Go to FIRE Simulations and verify/reconfigure your Safe Withdrawal Rate and Planned Expenses
3. Test saving both settings to confirm they persist correctly
