0.1 Beta Coming Soon

Hi all, we're closing in on a 0.1 beta candidate, check out the 0.1-preview branch for a sneak peak.

This will form the basis of the 1.0 candidate release (we expect some bug fixes etc).

This contains:

• Carbon Aware Web API
  • Get remissions by location and time
  • Get best emissions by location and time
  • Client generation for over 40+ languages - python, Java, dotnet and many more (currently in client branch)
  • Containerised for easy deployment
• Plugin architecture for custom data sources and business logic
  • • WattTime API support - WattTime license required
• Ability to write test harnesses for the languages you want to support, and this will be the model for officially supported clients in the future, and also how we will test in our own build pipelines
• Updates to the github project with new Issue and PR templates
• Built to be deployed in enterprise
  • DevContainer support for strong innerloop for developers
  • Test harness for integration tests and unit testing
  • Used by Fortune500 company to time shift large workloads already - battle tested

We're very excited with the progrekss over the last couple of months which has been heavily influenced by real world deployments, and we can't wait to get it out as a release.

What do we expect to change before a 1.0 release:

• No breaking cahnges expected at this time
• Updates to folder structures to create consistency across the project
• Updates to the github actions for the project
• Updates to logging/observability
• Some demos - nothing too fancy, but there are a few in the works and we'd like to include them
