Implement MCP (Model Context Protocol) Integration and Expose IF Framework for Carbon Impact Modeling

Implement Model Context Protocol (MCP) to enable standardized, context-rich interaction between external systems (such as LLM agents or orchestration platforms) and our internal carbon modeling capabilities powered by the Impact Framework (IF).

This integration will allow us to expose IF functionality—such as emissions estimation—through an MCP-compliant interface, making it accessible to other tools and agents in a structured, secure, and interoperable way.

Thanks Naveen. Very interesting idea. I'm going to sending you a prop for a SCI certification programme which will be gathering lots of database of methodologies. That's something I think we could definitely use to build a good MCP here. Best, Asim

I was thinking about this the other day and I wonder what we need here, might not even be an MCP.

This is more coding assistance than a DB.

If we had a large system prompt with information regarding how to structure the YAML. Maybe with examples. Can an LLM without additional training create a pretty credible manifest file?

I think a good test might be.

• Ask LLM to parse all our docs on IF, esp. creating a YAML. Listen to my workshop, look at the demo code, parse all the examples manifests with context. Read the SCI case studies and examine the associated IMPs.
• Ask it to parse an academic paper regarding a carbon calculation.
• Ask it then to generate an IMP file.

I'd be super interested to see what it returns?
