Expected Behavior
The chemical formula for polyvinyl butyral is the same in-game as it is IRL.
Actual Behavior
The chemical formula for polyvinyl butyral is (C4H8O)(C4H6O2), while IRL it's (C8H14O2). The in-game formula contains an extra atom of oxygen.

Check your recipe viewer of choice for polyvinyl butyral's chemical formula.
Additional Information
During the in-game production of polyvinyl butyral one mole of oxygen is lost.
