Performance - Fonts, font sizes and label vs value_str

Hi - Be gentle please as I've searched and can't find an answer on this. I've been using openHASP for a few months and created some really useful little screens.

I'm creating a larger screen with more buttons and labels. Does anyone have any guidance on font size, custom fonts, labels vs value_str etc?

I've a whole mix of lights, blinds and other types of buttons so a decent amount of text and icons in buttons. I want to make it as quick as possible to keep the wife from complaning!

My finds are that the difference between labels and Value string are minimal, but values are easier to manage in a complex layout as it doesn't take up an extra id. And it's easier to move around, although justification doesn't work so it's all left justified.

The best performance is pre-compiling (.bin) fonts, and their sizes. this reduces the load on the device immensely and means a much MUCH quick screen.
