Panlee ZX3D95CE01S-TR-V12 loads and runs but config screen not showing [solved]

I bought this plate a couple of months ago and was unable to find a display driver for it. Today I found that a similar plate (ZW3D95CE01S-TR) was supported by OpenHASP so I installed the nightly build. The plate starts and lets me enter my router info and it gets an IP address, so display, touch screen and stack work, but after rebooting, after the IP address is displayed, I only get the "plate" display in the top left corner and nothing else, the rest of the screen is black. The touch screen at that point also seems unresponsive and all I can do is reboot. This device has an ESP32-S3 N16R8. Am I missing some configuration steps? This device's factory software was previously erased during my attempts at getting something on the screen using the Arduino IDE. Thanks in advance for any suggestion.

The web interface is working. Not sure what I can do with it at this point as I am totally new at OpenHASP.

1. WT32- S3-WROVER-N16R8 (16MB Flash/8Line 8M die inside).
2. 480*480 high-resolution screen, capacitive touch.
3. Onboard RS485 chip.

Further looking through the web interface, I entred the IP address of my MQTT broker and I do get a number of messages under hasp/plate and hasp/discovery
I changed the color of the background from black to some grey and after rebooting, the display is now grey still with "plate" at the top left.
It seems like everything is working except that I need to somehow configure it to actually display something on the screen with pages.jsonl, and until I do that, nothing is displayed?

Correct, you need to configure your objects in pages.jsonl

Thank you, I eventually figured that out... The learning curve is fairly steep, but I got some things working.
The good new is that it looks like my plate is supported by the ZW3D95 firmware.

I have three questions:

1. I created a label and was able to display temperature data from the MQTT broker but the bg_color parameter does not seem to do anything as below:

The background remains the same as the overall display background as defined by the theme.

2. One annoyance is that when making changes to configuration.yaml in HA, simply reloading the config file does not get reflected by OpenHASP until I actually reboot HA completely. Is there a way to restart OpenHASP separately?

3. should I be worried about those invalid port pin settings?
