A condensed, scenario-focused revision reference for the AWS SAA-C03 exam.
Most study guides are organised like documentation service by service, feature by feature. This one is organised the way the exam actually thinks: by decision. For each question the exam is really asking "which service does this scenario point to, and why not the other three?" so the notes are built around splitters (the one distinction that separates two similar services) and traps (the plausible-but-wrong answer the exam deliberately plants).
- 10 service categories Storage, Compute, Database, Networking, Security & Identity, Integration/Decoupling, Management & Monitoring, Migration & Transfer, Analytics & Data, Cost Management.
- An appendix covering every remaining in-scope service (including the in-scope Machine Learning services) at trigger-word depth.
- A Disaster Recovery topic RTO/RPO, the four DR strategies, and the replication-vs-backup distinction, treated separately because DR is cross-cutting and heavily weighted.
- Short on time? Read the TRAPS lists. Each category ends with a numbered list of the exact distinctions the exam weaponises. That's the highest-value 20 minutes in the file.
- Depth is signposted: ⭐ = learn the full mechanism · ◽ = learn the decision surface and what it's confused with · ▫ = learn the one trigger word, nothing more. The tier reflects how deeply the exam tests each service, not how important the service is in real life.
- CONFIG blocks (inside ⭐ services) cover the specific knobs and failure symptoms the exam plants e.g. "messages processed more than once → visibility timeout shorter than processing time → increase it." Each comes with the trigger phrase attached.
Built from the official SAA-C03 in-scope service list plus patterns common across community practice banks.
