If possible, I think being able to power the base station from 12 or even better 24V would be better because that's often more easily available in a control cabinet :) |

12V supply will most likely work without changes, 24V will not be possible as a supply voltage with the current parts. However, the outputs will be compatible with 24V, as they can be configured to be open drain. |

I made another redesign of the basestation that should support 5V up to 24V. That was a bigger redesign, because it is not a good idea to drop the supply voltage from 24V down to 3V3 without a DC-DC converter. However, it will be a bit more expensive and I will wait for the sensor PCB to arrive before I think about giving this new baseboard redesign into production, because the current design fits my need. |

Yeah, DC-DC needed for that kind of gap, although I'd say it would also be needed to do 12v-3V3 reasonably :) Thank you for taking the time though! Regarding the price, do you have an estimate of the pricing of the different elements? |

I have been working on the Basestation and on the Sensor PCB more or less every day. The PCB has a lot of features to be easily adapted to your CNC controller. Once the counterpart, the Sensor PCB is ready, I will offer to buy the PCBs. The usage will be very easy, just provide 5V to the basestation and connect the sensor output to your CNC controller, everything elase is optional. The basestation has undergo a redesign and the current version (V2.0) looks like this. :
Here is a picture of the Basestation V1.0 assembled into the housing:

And here you can see the very first prototype:
