Mismatch between coordinate systems

When using the microlensed transfer function with a path generated from extract light curve, there is not always a perfect match between the coordinates of the magnification map and the convolution.

Proposed fix: convolution should return [x_track - pixel_shift, y_track - pixel_shift] instead of [x_track + pixel_shift, y_track + pixel_shift].

Note that [x_track + pixel_shift, y_track + pixel_shift] works well for plotting the track on the original magnification maps.

Perhaps the issue lies within the microlensed transfer function function.

After testing, we need to use [x_track, y_track] for the microlensing time delay calculation, since the method uses position of the bottom left corner as its reference point. [x_track + pixel_shift, y_track + pixel_shift] is the position of the SMBH on the magnification map. [x_track+pixel_shift, y_track+pixel_shift] is also the position of the bottom left corner on the convolution map.

To fix this, change path_x to "int(path_x[tt]-convolution.pixel_shift)" and path_y to "int(path_y[tt]-convolution.pixel_shift)" when returning the path, or reset the reference point to the SMBH in the microlensing time delay calculation to reflect this. Tested in an independent script and it works.
