Custom CrossOver location - games won't launch

Hi, I have Crossover installed to an external disk because of low disk space on my mac. Heroic recognizes that it is installed in the settings but when I try to run a game, I get the "Heroic bottle not found". I tried changing bottle and using an alias and got the same exact error.
Is there anything I could try to get it to work?
