Description
The current figures on the publicdb pages show the event, pulse height and pulse integral histograms as well as the single rates (+ distributions) and direction reconstructions. In order to be able to correctly assess the quality of the station these figures should be made using further reduced data.
It would be nice if (additional) figures exist that:
For the pulse height distribution:
- Take the random coincidences into account (i.e. ignore time differences larger than 300 ns, and subtract the random coincidence contribution for <300 ns time differences)
- Correct for the changing MIP peak due to temperature changes (determine MIP peak per time interval and scale, in the time interval you assume the temperature to be constant)
- Plot all pulse height distributions in terms of MIP
- Plot the simulated spectra (for 4, 6, 8 m detector separation in the case of a 2-det station)
For the pulse integral distribution:
- idem
For the single rates:
- Remove the PMT noise pulse contribution by:
- determining the pulse height distribution from random coincidence events (time differences > 300 ns)
- fitting the simulated Landau distribution to these singles
- determining the fraction muons / muons+noise pulses
- using this fraction for the measured single rates
- also take the changing MIP peak into account due to temperature changes
