Description
In-game soundtrack has big benefit over external: coherency with the gameplay. And one of the features that I miss every time I try to play with external music stream is that it's always on the same level until I change it myself. In-game soundtrack's volume on other hand can be lowered in moments when some event happens - gun fires, car crashes, character speaks - to emphasize player's experience in these moments. In music production it's called side-chaining: sound compressor has a detector which can react to audio stream to lower the volume of the other stream that passes through the compressor. Would it be difficult to implement such a feature?
