DigitalOcean Hubs Cloud Droplet Connection Refused Error

I searched the board and found one other conversation that was marked as answered but didn't have any information, so I figured it would be better to create a new discussion; apologies if this wasn't the best course of action.

After running the setup script and inputting my information I was given a successful completion with a link that times out with ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED

I'm guessing that it's due to DNS issues with my setup, but am not aware of how to fix them.
I'm not able to give DigitalOcean full access to the domain collaborativecurators.com because it's a working site, so I made a subdomain hubs.collaborativecurators.com and set the DNS manually based on the setup script.

On the droplet I added ICMP on the firewall so I could ping to make sure it's going to the correct IP.

This is where I get stuck... I have scoured the discussions here and on discord looking for similar issues, but haven't found much help with my specific setup so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are there any logs or other information that would help me figure this out?

I was able to fix this issue and get to a working site by running the polycosm_start.sh script in /opt/polycosm
It seems like it was hanging on resolving the cors-proxy.hubs. and assets.hubs. domains but is now able to resolve after waiting over night. I'm guessing it was something to do with my DNS setup.
