How can I get scrollable or full-width markdown tables?

In the column marked in red in the figure, since the table cannot scroll left and right, this column is compressed very narrow. This is very unsightly. How can I get scrollable or full-width markdown tables?

I use starter-book template and I update from 20201016182837-be0fa17ac006 to 20201221153245-e47738df5972. There are still 2 problems here:

1. The leftside courses syllabus is gone.

   There is no problem of the directory before the upgrade.

2. The table still cannot scroll left and right, this column is still compressed very narrow. Is there any way to scroll this table left and right?
