Announcement of Grakn 2.0 alpha

Here is the official announcement post of the Grakn 2.0 Knowledge Graph.

While in alpha, there are staged docs available here: dev.docs.grakn.ai.

It covers some history of Grakn and the following topics:

1. Replaced Cassandra with RocksDB
2. New Graph Storage Engine: replacing JanusGraph
3. New Grakn Type System: our Knowledge Representation
4. New Graql: even simpler and more powerful
5. New Traversal Engine: replacing TinkerPop/Gremlin
6. New Query Planner: an Integer Linear Program
7. New Reasoning Engine: based on Event Loop + Actor Model
8. New Query Engine: an Asynchronous Producer-Consumer
9. New Client-Server Protocol: a Reactive Stream
10. New Grakn Cluster: a Raft based distributed Grakn

Known issues as of 2.0 alpha release:

• Workbase is not compatible yet
• reasoning is not activated yet
