Vs Code - needs lot of permissions vs IBM Data Studio

Hi

The link says that we need all the permissions:

IBM data studio can connect my username and happily write sql and execute with the bare minimum permissions. Also it allows me to go into schemas, tables and show the details...

Where as VS code extension can connect but expects all permissions.

Can the extension work with the bare minimum permissions ? How to make it connect and work with minimum permissions?

In my case it gave me error: Failed to retrieve catalog navigation objects: DB2 SQL Error: SQLCODE=-551, SQLSTATE=42501, SQLERRMC=......;SELECT;SYSIBM.SYSTABLESPACE, DRIVER=4.32.28

My DBA says that we cannot give!
