FlashCopy rate

When using FlashCopy it is limited to default rate and I have not found any way to either change default for whole Storewize or set rate to 150 in VolumeSnapshotClass. FlashCopy a 250Gb LUN with max 2MB/sec is kind of limiting.

@kbolapon we spoke to the FlashSystem team. it is recommended to use the new Snapshot function, if available on your system.
to use that instead of FlashCopy, set the virt_snap_func parameter in both the StorageClass and the VolumeSnapshot class to true

But v5100 only supports version 8.5 which as I understand do not have the virt_snap_func.

indeed, but there is no supported option to set the copy rate, only for cloning and restore maps and even that is only on the "hidden" internal maps

I do not know how a snapshot is started from ibm-block-csi but normal CLI you just use -copyrate 150 to get full speed.

This CLI command example creates a FlashCopy mapping and sets the copy rate:

mkfcmap -source mainvdisk1 -target bkpvdisk1
-name main1copy -copyrate 75

The -copyrate 150 is really really really needed to make Storewize usable. Either set it as a default which we can not change or give it as a parameter but it must be implemented!
