Dear INSPIRE validation community,
We are pleased to announce the release v2026.1, which will be the last release of the INSPIRE Reference Validator.
This version includes the latest minor fixes and improvements to the Executable Test Suites (ETS) identified by the community and reported through the helpdesk (see the changelog).
With this release, the maintenance cycle of the INSPIRE Reference Validator reaches its conclusion. In other words, ETS will be no longer maintained and no further releases or updates are planned after this release.
However, this repository will remain available for reference and documentation purposes, and the helpdesk support will be ensured until the end of 2026, limited to interpretation of test results (i.e. on ATS/ETS), but not on deployment issues.
In addition, as previously communicated, the operational instances (both production and staging) of the INSPIRE Reference Validator will be discontinued on 1 April 2025.
Users and organisations that rely on the Validator are encouraged to complete any pending validations and download relevant reports or results before the discontinuation of the service. Organisations willing to continue using the Validator are encouraged to deploy a local instance using the material and instructions provided with the release.
We would like to thank all members of the INSPIRE community who have contributed over the years by reporting issues, proposing improvements and supporting the evolution of the Validator by contributing to the helpdesk. The feedback and collaboration received through this repository have been essential for maintaining and improving the platform.
Thank you for your collaboration and support throughout the lifecycle of the INSPIRE Reference Validator.
Kind regards,
the EC JRC team
