Release Group

A release group describes those instruments we would release together. An instruments release group is shown in the main instrument table.

There are two main Release Groups. Group A will have a January IBEX deploy as standard, group B will get deployed to in August. These will be the general updates to make sure that code is kept up to date on instruments, benefits are available to all, and support can be maintained more easily.

If there are items that need to be added to instruments at other times, or if there is a fix that an instrument needs then these can be deployed to with the group they are not normally in, or between main deployments as agreed between instrument scientists and the experiment controls group. Smaller changes or additions will be more easily patched in this scenario as well.
