How to install?

I extracted the ZIP to a new folder, loaded the respective IndyTLSOpenSSL280.dpk and tried to build. Failed with E2225 never-build package 'designide' must be recompiled
Added the {$DEFINE IMPLICITBUILDING}, still same error.

IMPLICITBUILDING is defined by the compiler, you don't need to define it manually.

designide should never need to be recompiled. Do you, perhaps, have the IDE's source folders on your project's search paths? IdRegisterOpenSSL.pas uses some design-time units, sounds like maybe your compiler is trying to recompile those units directly instead of pulling them in from the designide package.

When opening a .dpk file in the IDE, it generates a .dproj file. Perhaps the {$IMPLICITBUILD OFF} setting is not being imported correctly. Try looking at each package's settings in the IDE's Project Options dialog and make sure that the Build control option is set to Explicit rebuild.

Building the IndyTLSOpenSSL packages should not be rebuilding the Indy packages, which should not be rebuilding the RTL package.

The ZIP I am talking about is the one you download when clicking on "Code". I didnt clone the repo.
I was refering to the IndyTLSOpenSSL280.dpk, sorry.
The "master" is the correct source?
What is the difference between "dclIndyTLSOpenSSL280.dpk" and "IndyTLSOpenSSL280.dpk"?

Yes I typed it by hand (didnt know I could copy the error), it was a typo of course.

I now cloned the repo. First compiled "IndyTLSOpenSSL280" which removed some refernces but worked, then I could install the "dclIndyTLSOpenSSL280".
It seems that once clicking on build, which I did before ruins the package for ever....
I'm confused but it installed now.

IndyTLSOpenSSL... is the run-time package containing the actual components. This is the package your projects link to.

dclIndyTLSOpenSSL... is the design-time package containing component registrations and IDE editors. This is the package you install into the IDE.
