** Description
If this video was clicked from the home page, using the back gesture will minimize the player. But if this video is clicked from the video recommendation queue at the bottom, using the back gesture will return to the previous video.

I hope to add two buttons to the player to go to the previous/next movie, so that the player can be minimized whenever the back gesture is used.

No you misunderstand how the back gesture works. The current behavior is a intended feature to allow quick navigating to recent history and there is no plan to change it. If you want to minimize, you should swipe down the video page - this will bring you back to the last activity, search/channel/trending, etc. These 2 stacks are separate and won't affect each other.

For the previous/next, we definitely have it, but only if you are in a play queue. If you click to navigate to another video one by one, your queue's size is always 1 and these buttons won't appear.

Regardless of the bugginess of down swipe I see value in giving an option for the end-user to change back gesture logic as OP explained, simply because it always was used this way and therefore it is intuitive and expected behaviour at this point for almost every user.

Although I am using this app for almost 2 years I still find myself frustrated with using back gesture to minimize mini player only to realize again and again AND again NewPipe "family" of apps does not work like any other client ever.
