[Feature request] Video and audio format

I don't know if it's forbidden to talk about other apps, if so, please close this request. Smarttube app has the ability to select video and audio format. I'm not just talking about audio or video like webm or m4a, opus vp9 aac etc things and you can play a 60fps video at 30fps. I think it would be very nice to bring these features. I apologize if I wrote something wrong in this request.

Well, this is actually a UI issue. Considering the very limited space, we must consider:

1. How many different formats should be stored in the dropdown menu?
2. What information should each entry include?

For the first question, resolution and refresh rate are obviously the most important concerns for users. Therefore, our decision is to keep only one entry for each refresh rate and resolution in the dropdown menu, while the specific encoding format is determined by Settings > Player > Enable advanced formats, with the priority being WebM(vp9) > AV1 > MP4(avc, default). We believe this maintains both flexibility and a minimalist design.

For the second question, we retained resolution, refresh rate, and video format. However, whether it should be the video format or encoding is still up for discussion.

In short, implementing the selection shown in the screenshot is not difficult, but considering the design of information density, we only retained the most important information.

After further thinking I find you are right that listing the full codec & resolution combination will make things looks more clearly. It will be changed in the next version.
