Support for different backends

Hello!

How is the one supposed to add support for different types of backend systems (ex. AWS S3)?
I see two options:

• Modify the connector to support new BackendSource types. This will affect API. And I suppose there will be problems with connecting to existing Applications.
• Stick with the HTTP and implement dedicated backend service to backend artifacts over HTTP. This basically means that the connector itself is not supposed to be extendable.
