+We had a wonderful deep Tenderloin Valentine's Day dinner at Azalina's. The security guard was really friendly, and the closed blinds to the outside had a certain charm.
+
+The place is really lovely, and it's great they do a vegan tasting menu. A couple of the dishes were really good (they change them all the time so there's no point listing them). It was an unfortunate flow because the earlier dishes were a lot better than the later ones.  
+
+Could be that it's a smashing place, they change it up all the time. But maybe a bit risky for the hefty price tag, it was $275 for two of us, a menu and a drink each (including tax and tip).

+Very expensive South Indian place that I would only go to if someone else is paying. Lucky for me, they were.
+
+A few things were a bit meh, like the pani puri and the dumplings a few of the other appetizers. The **mains** were good, but I'm forgetting what they were. Not like way better than a lot of the other upscale Indian places though, I'd probably rather go to [Copra](/places/copra). But I'd defnitely eat here again.
+
+Also, the drinks weren't amazing. They were damn strong though.
+
+We got a lot of food and 2 drinks each and it ended up being $150 a head, so it's pricey.

+This is a chocolate place that makes expensive fancy chocolate and hot drinks. The best thing about it is that you get to **infinitely sample all the chocolates** while you wait in the line! And all the chocolate is vegan, just cacao and sugar. It's an adventure in the beans themselves, and they're very tasty.
+
+The main thing to get here though are the **hot chocolates** and **mochas**. They can do most of them vegan if you just do it with an alt milk, just not the European drinking chocloate. I usually get the **Mexican Mocha** which is a spiced hot chocolate with a shot of espresso.
+
+They also have a vegan carrot cake, I think other people like it but it tastes a bit generic vegan to me.
+
+The drinks are a bit pricey, like $9 with tax and tip, but I think it's worth it with all the samples. The vibe inside is a little sterile so I like to grab a drink and go to Dolores Park.

+Awesome **ice cream** place. The owner is this very funny Italian woman who clearly loves her job. She puts in a ton of effort to the vegan flavors, and does pretty experimental things. One time she made this cucumber sorbet.

+Also she said she could do custom flavors, because I asked if she could do a vegan pistachio one. She quoted like $100 for 5 liters. Just in case someone with a budget gets ideas.

+Great new Himalayan place on Valencia St. It's super cheap, each dish is under $15 and they're big. The **chili momos** were awesome, deep fried and saucy. Could be hotter though. The jhol momos (steamed in suace) were a little bland. And we got a **thali plate** that they could make vegan, which had 5 dishes of which 3 were great. And that was just $16 which is crazy these days.
