Multirow tabs support thread

I've noticed that sometimes the + (open new tab) disappears and leaves a gap. I have it set to 3 rows scrolling.

EDIT: How to reproduce (just found out). Go to the last tab of the penultimate row and click close tabs to the right. This will obviously delete all tabs from last line and leave the gap and no +button.

I can't seem to replicate it, but that should be fixed in the last version that was released a while ago, so if you installed the previous one try with the latest just in case.

Otherwise, it seems like there is some spacing on top and below the tabs bar on your firefox which shouldn't be there... so make sure that there isn't some code that is overriding the margins of the tabs (.tabbrowser-tab or tab) or the new tab button (#tabs-newtab-button) on your userchrome.

Good afternoon,
When dragging a tab a short distance, it pins. And, in the form of a small icon, it moves to the beginning of all tabs. As far as I can tell, this behavior is obtained when a tab is located inside a group of tabs. It doesn't happen outside a group.

Also, when dragging a tab, the tab indicator (the vertical stick and circle) is significantly offset from the tab's actual position and the location where the tab will end up. Almost always.

If a tab group is expanded and I start dragging a tab out of it with the mouse, the remaining tabs in the group disappear (become empty). This happens when I start dragging, on MouseDown.

Hi, i have a problem to run the linux installer on Ubuntu 24.04

tkinter is installed on system and the import on a python shell works fine

the older installer version 1.8.4 starts without problems, but is obviously not working with latest firefox.

I reuploaded the lastest release with the issue fixed. It seems like the old glib version one was also broken, so reuploaded that one too after fixing it.

Thanks for the update. I tested a bit with 1.9.12 and got it to work with 'Scrollable rows' (3) and 'Autohide scrollbars' checked. But when I use 'All rows visible' I can't seem to get that to work.

For me it works for all of them, and the fix was pretty much the same, so if it works on scrollable rows there is no reason why it shouldn't work on the all rows visible... check that it has these lines at line 191 on your user profile chrome folder and inside the MultiRowTabLiteforFx.uc.js file:

You can add more margin to trigger the jumping of the new tab, but 3px should be the minimum necesary.

On the "all rows visible" there is not much point for the all tabs button anyway, so you can also hide it completelly on your userChrome to prevent the issue completelly:

Weird. yeah line 191 matches and I tried to remove it with userChrome.css and there is still no change. I'm making these changes in the default-nightly profile folder is that correct? I don't have any other profiles except default ones. Could it be something entirely different that is offsetting it?

On the latest 1.9.13 it's doing strange things with the min/max/close buttons on Windows 10. It moves them into the tab area, which creates a lot of unusable space.

I'm using the following settings:

• Multi-row Tabs (all rows visible)
• Tabs below URL bar
• Enable unread state

The tabs below implementation is suposed to be used having the menu bar enabled, otherwise there is just an empty space above the urlbar for no reason.

When having the menu bar enabled the min/max/close buttons appear on top as they should.

If you don't want the menu bar on you will at least have to enable the title bar from the customization page:

If you want to use the title bar approach, you will have to remove (or encase between /* and */ ) the following fragments inside the Tabs-below.as.css file in your chrome folder to remove the unnecesary space above the url bar:

After that add this new line to the file:

These changes will be reverted if you repatch the file, so if you need to patch firefox again in the future don't select the tabs below url so that it keeps your changes and only patch the other things you may use.

The tabs below feature at least doesn't break as often, so there isn't usually a need to patch it.

Hi, I really appreciate this project. 1.9.13 doesn't work for me quite right, though: I have pinned tabs (so, first row) and the non-pinned tabs do not go below the pinned tabs anymore, in this release. It's just blank space below the pinned tabs, and the multi rows are just to the right of the last pinned tab...

I'm not sure I understand the issue. Non pinned tabs were always suposed to show to the right of the last pinned tab.

They were never suposed to go below the pinned tabs if there was space left in the first row.

The only time when this would happen would be if there is not enough space in the first row for more tabs, so it jumps to the next:

Hmmm. I tried to replicate the problem to show you, with all new tabs (to be anonymous) and the problem doesn't happen with a new set. But it happens with my current set. Let me try unpinning and repinning and see if the problem goes away.

But this was the problem just to clarify... there were no tabs were I have circled in red. But again, the problem is fixed now, I just had to unpin and repin.

A big thank you for keeping this project alive! Been using Quantum Nox with Dev edition since Paxmod stopped working.

The problem:
Updated to the latest Developer Edition 148.0b3 and unfortunately it's all one line now.

Installed latest Nightly for a test and indeed multi-rows work there.

The reason I use Dev edition is because of Paxmod. Even though multi-row function is broken in Paxmod, everything else works more or less and Quantum Nox always brought multi-rows back after an update.

Pasting this to custom CSS in Paxmod brings back multi-row but moving tabs around is broken.

Disabling Paxmod is not helping either.
Checked numerous times that the right profile is selected in Quantum Nox.
Perhaps I'm missing something.

For me it shows correctly.

Make sure to go to your chrome folder on the developer profile that you can find in about:support and delete any files you may find in there that isn't the "utils" folder.

After that reinstall the patch and the functions you want and delete the startup cache using about:support. Finally close firefox and start it again.

Dragging tabs within tab groups doesn't work. Dragging works outside of tabs.
I can drag a tab from a tab outside a group, but I can't drag it back. Windows 11.

An issue I've been having for a couple of months now (I don't really remember when I first started seeing it): Assume there are N tabs, Tab_1 through Tab_N. When I try to move a tab T to the left of the last tab (between Tab_N-1 and Tab_N), although the blue marker shows the tab is going to land where I want, the tab in fact is moved to the right of the last tab. So, instead of having Tab_N-1, T, Tab_N I get Tab_N-1, Tab_N, T. If, then, I move T from the right to the left of Tab_N, T lands in the expected position, i.e. between Tab_N-1 and Tab_N.
