3d voronoi fracture.

Can it be modified to be used for 3d Fractures as well, as far as i can see it is a 2d Voronoi and although it can be used on 3d meshes it will always project a flat Voronoi on the surface and cut through, so there is no fracture inside or even on sides.
Any idea about that?
