Is AC power cable noise a problem?

should I be worried about noise from an AC power cable near my rower damaging my raspberry pi 3 B input pin? I've been looking at the signal on gpio17 with an oscilloscope and notice 50Hz spikes up to about 4V. The wire to the reed switch is unshielded.
I've experimented a bit with an RC filter to eliminate the spikes but then openrowingmonitor stops registering the signal, I guess because it's too deformed?

I'm not familiar with the hardware design of the RPi, but it isn't helplfull. And this kind of noise tends to mess with the signal.

The wire to the reed switch is unshielded.

I use a shielded wire (wire for audio headsets), which seems to do the job without hurting the signal.

I replaced the original wire with a shielded one (and removed my R C filter) and it has eliminated the 50Hz noise. Thanks. I recently tried switching to a shielded wire for a control pendant on a cnc I was upgrading and it wasn't very effective so I was pleasantly surprised how effective this was.
