Lusaka error

I am trying to get the boundary for Lusaka in Zambia: 22503172

I get an error at polygons.openstreetmap.fr

Any idea what might cause this?

You're getting an error because Lusaka only has a way ID, not a relation ID.

Near the bottom of the top-left section on that page is:

OSM	way 22503172

Where that way 22503172 links to http://www.openstreetmap.org/way/22503172

In order for the polygons.openstreetmap.fr site to work, you need a relation ID. For example, Atlanta, Georgia - near the bottom of its top-left section is:

OSM	relation 119557

Where that relation 119557 links to http://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/119557 and if you enter it into polygons.openstreetmap.fr you get http://polygons.openstreetmap.fr/?id=119557

Unfortunately, to get the OSM data for Lusaka, you'll need to trace it out in http://extract.bbbike.org/ ... If you're going to do that, then I'd recommend opening the Google Maps view of Lusaka in another tab & switching back & forth at the same zoom level in both sites. I've found this approach helpful when accurately mappings out cities.
