You are right, it is not good mix TinkerPop version between client and server, but I did it because I thought it was the problem of my error connection between the Java application and JanusGraph. If you follow the guide as explained in JanusGraph https://docs.janusgraph.org/interactions/connecting/java/ you won't be able to connect it. The server gives this error: The Java application gives this: There are two ways to solve it, modifying the remote-objects.yaml present in the folder conf in your application:

You are right. Actually, in de janusgraph-full-0.6.2 distribution, the conf/remote-objects.yaml already says: But this is not reflected in the documentation, indeed. You can discuss in #3069 whether they want to take this into account or rather see a separate issue that depends on #3069 . |

Yes, it is written there but I think you would agree with me that a person, who is approaching this system for the first time, following the guide may find it difficult to get it to work. Since it is a simple thing to solve, we can save a lot of time for someone who will approach this system in the future. |

Hi guys,
I have worked with JanusGraph for my master thesis and I think the documentation should be updated https://docs.janusgraph.org/interactions/connecting/java/ for connecting to it using Java.
There is a new version of Gremlin (3.6.0).
To get started with JanusGraph in Java:
mvn archetype:generate -DgroupId=com.mycompany.project -DartifactId=gremlin-example -DarchetypeArtifactId=maven-archetype-quickstart -DinteractiveMode=falseMaven:
copy the point 2 https://docs.janusgraph.org/interactions/connecting/java/, then modify it changing the version of Gremlin 3.5.3 to 3.6.0
Grandle:
