Frequent "Decryption failed, desynchronized" errors with Onvis Thread Smart Button via HomeKit Controller #523

Hi,

I am experiencing frequent decryption errors when using an Onvis Thread Smart Button paired with Home Assistant through the HomeKit Controller integration.

Decryption failed, desynchronized? Counter=20/21
Decryption failed, desynchronized? Counter=21/22
Failed flailing attempts to resynchronize, self-destructing in 3, 2, 1...
Decryption failed, desynchronized? Counter=19/20`

The issue occurs many times per day (hundreds of log entries). It seems to affect only the Onvis Thread Smart Button; other Eve Energy devices and HomePods appear stable.

All devices (Home Assistant, HomePods, accessories) are running the latest firmware/software versions. My Thread network includes 3 HomePod minis as border routers and multiple Eve Energy devices (one or more per room). Wi‑Fi 2.4 GHz is dedicated to home automation, with no Zigbee network present.

Expected behavior:
The button should send events reliably without repeated decryption/desync errors.

Actual behavior:
Events are sometimes lost, and the logs are flooded with decryption errors.

Additional context:
From what I understand, these errors may be related to Thread mesh instability. However, the problem seems to affect only this specific device when integrated via HomeKit Controller. If I pair the button directly with Apple Home, it appears more stable.
