Hi, you can use any model from any instance to use the Web Search tool as long as the model is compatible with tools. To use web search simply select the tool from the tool selector (the dropdown at the right side below the text entry in the chat). Alpaca then asks the model to provide a search term that is used to look up a website using the integrated Web Browser Activity. The model then chooses a website from the results and the contents of the website are extracted in text form. Once the contents of the website are extracted Alpaca will ask the model to generate a response, now including the content of the website. |

My Use Case - I run local ollama and want to analyse web pages online
I think Alpaca can serve my need, but the information on it is very slim. Do I need to use an online model via API, or can I use a local model? How to use either of them?
Can I browse the internet and then tell my AI to summarize?
From the documentation:
"Web Search
Asks the selected Added Model to provide a search term based on the Chat contents and uses the Web Browser Activity to return a Website Attachment based on the contents of the result."
