Feature idea: sanctioned hardware system(s) #46

After Mini Micro 2.0 enables us to run on RPi, it'd be great to make a stripped-down Linux kernel that boots directly into Mini Micro.

And then it'd be even more fun to offer a bundle that has that kernel pre-installed on some hardware that we officially support and optimize for. There are two basic form factors to consider:

  1. Computer-in-the-keyboard, like the Raspberry Pi 500. Bundle that with a 3:2 (probably 1280P) monitor, like the 10.5” Eyoyo or UPERFECT 12.3”, which are available for $55-65 (need to double-check that these include speakers), and we have a complete Mini Micro desktop system.

  2. Laptop, like the CrowPi L. A little pricier, but all-in-one and easier to take with you on the go.

A cheap version of this feature would be just to test, verify, and recommend certain hardware, while providing a download for the SD card image to use. A somewhat nicer version would be to order some units, pre-install the software, and repackage them for delivery directly. In that case be sure to include gift options -- either system above would make a great gift!
