Cheap Yellow Display Compatability?

Thanks for putting together this fascinating project! While I wait for my Lilygo board to come in, I was thinking this would be a phenomenal project to adapt and get running on a Cheap Yellow Display (I've got a JC2432W328 I need to see If I can't adapt this to). I think it would be a perfect candidate as it has everything all built-in and can be run as a completely standalone and battery-powered device.

I am checking it out now! I have been hitting tons of limitations with my current board so definatly looking for a cheaper option!

ok, after looking at it a bit it will probably run this system fine, going to take some modifications to the code for sure but it will defiantly be neat. I would personally like to see a version you could watch stuff on using the touch screen for navigation. Keep me posted if you work on it, I may pick one up to test with!

I wish I were more helpful than just a good idea. Unfortunately, my coding knowledge is about as good as a toddler trying to stay within the lines with a fist full of crayons in a colouring book...

Haha, hey in fairness that's how it starts! That being said I will be looking into it some, don't hold your breath but it's on my radar!

The CYD uses an older esp32 chip with only 4m of ram. There's just enough oomf to render audio streams and show pictures, but video would be out of the question.
