Experimental Branch Update: Polish Update Released

The Polish Update is now live on the experimental branch!

This update focuses on refining the user experience, fixing reported bugs, and making the entire system easier to use and configure without needing to touch the firmware.

Highlights

• All settings moved to the frontend configure everything from the admin panel
• Rebuilt Admin Panel with restart, USB mode, brightness, Wi-Fi, RGB, file tools and more.
• Playlist support, loop, shuffle, downloads, and better file sorting on the Music page
• Gallery and Files pages added for broader media and file sharing support
• Books page now supports EPUB files (download only, working on a new reader).
• Improved media file compatibility across all sections
• LCD shows USB mode and media.json generation progress > shows file names on screen as they are added
• All settings are now persistent across reboots (so your LED setup stays setup lol)

This is a major cleanup and stability release, and includes everything currently under active development. Once user testing is complete, these features will be merged into main.

Sales

While I originally built Nomad as a personal project, it’s gained so much attention that I’d be remiss not to explore offering a polished version for sale mainly to help cover the cost of college. My goal is to make the system more user-friendly for everyday users, without sacrificing the DIY spirit. All code, updates, and improvements will continue to be released on GitHub first, and any future website or storefront will emphasize building it yourself as a low-cost, open-source option.
