This is a PR against the reactive branch, which implements (I hope) some of what was discussed in d9a20c7.

Come to think of it, I wonder whether it would be better to end up adding the Reactive versions directly to GtkInteract, and leaving this package as-is for legacy purposes. (It's fine to develop it here, since we'd end up copying the code anyway.)

Though Pkg.dependents only reports ProfileView and Immerse as dependencies, so we could go either way.
