Pkg changes [apps] entries

I've declared a Julia-App within my Project.toml as follows:

[apps]
jwc = {}

Pkg changes this to

[apps.jwc]

AI tells me, that this is ok. But there is no documentation about this. Is it really ok? And if so, could the docs be extended accordingly?

Apart from that, the docs for Julia-Apps are quite sparse. Without the help of AI it was impossible for me e.g to find out, how to install an App from a local Julia package.
