Sync Time results in Error

Description

This is the same bug as referenced here, it is now back - #854

Fast forward exactly 1 year and this error started happening again for me, at exactly midnight (UTC) February 1st.

Could there be something strange about the mapping / format of the time sent to camera for month of February?

I didn't update anything, it just started up in the logs again at exactly midnight (UTC) for the month of February.

All the logs / firmware is the same as the original issue I posted, I just didn't have permission to re-open it.

I see. For organization purposes, please fill out all the sections of issue properly even if it is the same as a year ago, it was working for a year so it is technically a new issue.

Make sure to send debug logs as well please.

I can see the issue as well on 2 of my cameras out of 6.

I have tried many different settings, the camera refuses all of them during the month of February (based on last issue).

This is unsupported functionality (as in, Tapo app does not support setting time).

Some cameras models (firmwares?) refuse ONVIF set time command during month of February.

This is all onvif standard and nothing that can be fixed on integration side, and it works on some cameras while not on others, thus I am closing this issue ( == firmware issue).

Please proceed with opening issue with TPLink, as described last year in #854 (comment) .

@JurajNyiri Can you at least catch the exception rather than letting it propagate up to HASS, so that the log does not get polluted by that error in February? Or, can you explain how to disable the time sync feature? I cannot see where this can be done.

How to disable time sync:

1. Integration options by clicking on the cogwheel next to device name in /config/integrations/integration/tapo_control
2. Configure time synchronization
3. Uncheck Automatically synchronise time

What we can do to close this issue is add a backoff timer of 24 hours when this specific error is observed along with a single warning. I am in middle of a huge refactor so it will be done once i am done with it.
