Description

Tapo C212 suddenly stopped working with error message:
Setup error:
PyTapo KLAP Error #3: ('Device connection error: 10.0.0.240: Server disconnected', ServerDisconnectedError('Server disconnected'))
My Tapo C310 camera works fine

Reproduction Steps

Cant really replicate that i guess

Expected behavior

Camera should work after setup

If applicable, add error logs.

Read through issue named exactly the same is yours that solves the problem. The question whether you search is in the template for a reason.

Remove and add the camera to ha.

Yeah i just saw them, i originally didnt want to publish my issue but missclicked. Anyways, those steps dont work for me.

1. i cant use admin as user name for local camera account because it wants 6 characters as name.
2. if entering wrong cloud password there is no option to change username but instead shows error message.
3. device and cloud password are the same
4. when setting up my c310 with the exact same process it works just fine. Its the c212 camera that has a problem maybe

1. Do not use admin as an RTSP username, nowhere in the docs it says to do that. Choose your rtsp username and password as you wish.
2. Yes, this was changed so that people do not change the correct control username - admin for camera. The option was there briefly in 7.1.3. Use the correct cloud password.
3. Make them different.
4. If you are still having issues, post exact screenshots of how you are setting it up, every step, screenshot.
5. As i suggested previously, remove and add the camera to ha.

I removed and added the camera like 5 times, didn't work unfortunately. When adding the camera to the TP link integration with auto detect it works just fine.

No worries. I think i figured what is happening, and the issue should be solved once you use different passwords like I asked in previous message.

Should now be fixed in https://github.com/JurajNyiri/HomeAssistant-Tapo-Control/releases/tag/7.1.6 .

During a lot of refactors I was doing lately I totally forgot about cameras that accept control via 3rd party account and therefore the flow being different - with cloud password being optional, apologies.

Bug was introduced in 7.1.0 and is now fixed in 7.1.6.
