To be precise, passive matching is equal to enabling SteamTradeMatcher, while active matching is MatchActively.

The difference is very simple. Enabled SteamTradeMatcher means that your bot is going to accept fair neutral+ trade offers that the bot receives (from other people). Enabled MatchActively means that your bot is going to send such fair trade offers to other ASF bots available on public listing.

Passive matching therefore depends on other people sending you trade offers, which usually are focused on their needs, but might occasionally also help you to move closer to badge completion. Active matching is focused on you moving closer to badge completion, so every trade made there and…
